UMSHoF member DESMA THOMAS (BATEAST) set 2 school records, for most free throws made and most free throws attempted, by making 18 free throws in 22 attempts, in a 62-52 win at St. John's ! Desma helped lead the '95-'96 Lady Canes basketball team to finish in a tie for the BIGEAST RegularSeasonChampionship! Also, on This Date in Hurricanes History...February 3, 2005... The Miami Hurricanes Women's Tennis team, coached by UMSHoF member PAIGE YAROSHUK TEWS, upset the #4 ranked UCLA Bruins 4-3 at the USTA / ITA National Women's Indoor Tennis Championships in Madison, Wisconsin ! The 2005 Lady Canes tennis team finished with a 21-5 match record andadvanced to the 2nd round of the NCAA Championships !
