This Date in Hurricanes History...May 6th, 1966... Brought to you by the UM Sports Hall of Fame! UMSHoF member Warren Bogle struck out 17 batters in rout to a 7-0 victory over Rollins at "Miami Field" in Coral Gables. Bogle, who played for legendary Coach Ron Fraser, would became the first Miami Hurricane baseball player to make it to the Big Leagues, making his MLB debut with the Oakland Athletics in August, 1968 ! After his playing days, Warren returned to Miami and taught at South Miami Middle School for nearly 30 years ! He and his wife, Sue, are retired and now live on the West Coast of Florida!
